A&M-Victoria’s Hardy named RRAC Softball Pitcher of the Week
WACO – Sophomore pitcher Zoe Hardy showcased her impact for the Texas A&M University-Victoria softball team last week.
The right-hander posted a 2-0 record in the circle, striking out 14 batters and allowing just three runs over 15 innings of work to help the Jaguars go 4-2 in six games last week and improve to 6-2 on the young season.
After that performance, on Monday, the Walla Walla, Washington, native was named Red River Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for the week of Feb. 2-8. This is the second weekly honor by the conference this season.
"I'm so grateful to have received this recognition, but it's an award that wouldn't belong to me without the hard work and effort our team has continuously put in on defense these last few weeks," Hardy said. "God is so faithful and continues to deliver. I couldn't be happier with the energy and dedication our team has already shown. I'm so excited to see how much we'll continue to grow and all the amazing things I know God still has in store for us."
She is the first A&M-Victoria player to earn Pitcher of the Week since Audrie Sayas earned the honor on April 28, 2025.
Hardy ranks second in the NAIA in wins with a 3-0 record in the circle. Her 1.17 ERA leads all starters in the RRAC and her 16 strikeouts rank third in the conference.
In Saturday's 6-0 win over Central Baptist (Ark.), Hardy struck out a season-high seven batters.
Her performance early in the season has helped the Jaguars' boast the second-best pitching staff in the RRAC after two weeks with a 2.68 ERA.
A&M-Victoria next faces Texas College on the road Feb. 20-21 to open up conference play.
